The American Silver Eagle has been issued since 1986 as the first silver bullion coin guaranteed by the United States government. The coins are minted to contain one ounce of silver and are produced for bullion investors and coin collectors. The obverse design of the Silver Eagle is taken from Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty Half Dollar.

Thank You So Much for having a site like this, where the Novice Collector can read & hear about the different coins, and what is important to that certain coin, without (hearsay) & you don’t know what is true or false. Keep Up the Good work. Thank You RPJ Dillon

What a great job and this site really fills a need for new and experienced collectors. I always enjoy reviewing the important dates and details of a coins history. Super production values here as well. I can only hope a site like this can grow it’s library and be supported for a long time to come. Now the hard job of making this known to all. I happend apon this site thanks to Numismaitc News having an article about this site. Once again great job and thank you!

Really informative, as a collector with shallow pockets, I get to see the other side of the hobby and the reason for it.
Thank you for a good web site

Great site. I LOVE it. The only thing I was curious about was the 2006 Reverse proof and why you did not go into any detail about it. It is such a different silver eagle that I think should have had something said about it. It was only in the 20th anniversary set and is a beautiful coin.
