Topics covered include:

- 1878 Morgan Dollar Varieties
- Grading Morgan Dollars
- Deep Mirror Proof Like (DMPL) and Proof Like (PL) coins
- Things to avoid in the series

What a great job and this site really fills a need for new and experienced collectors. I always enjoy reviewing the important dates and details of a coins history. Super production values here as well. I can only hope a site like this can grow it’s library and be supported for a long time to come. Now the hard job of making this known to all. I happend apon this site thanks to Numismaitc News having an article about this site. Once again great job and thank you!

One of the guys in our Mesa Coin Club handed around the news piece (I think from NN) just tonight announcing this website. As an experienced Morgan collector, I found the video to be very well-done. Perhaps a bit watered down during the last half — but, on the other hand this is a very detailed topic that could probably go on for an hour. Hats off to you Mark, this is a great new resource for our hobby.

Thanks for the tip on the 1889 cc mark, I would have probably bought this coin. As I do like the Carson City Mint’s for Morgan Dollars. Thanks again Mark and for the places to do my shoping for rare coins.

VAMS (an acronym for Van Allen and Mallis, the authors of the Comprehensive Catalogue and Encyclopedia of Morgan and Peace Dollars) are die varieties. Every single Morgan and Peace Dollar is a VAM. The idea behind the book and carried on by VAM collectors is to identify and catalgue every die pair used to make these coins. Now, some VAMs are worth consdierably more than others. There is a wide swing on values. If you want to learn about VAMs, visit http://www.vamworld.com.
